Welcome to Fastforward 2010 , out time of prayer and fasting. As a community of God’s people we are committed to pursuing Him. We desire to live our lives following His directions and His vision for us, both corporately and personally. The 21 days of fasting and prayer during February is a great opportunity to seek God and to focus your attention on being directed and empowered by God as you move into the new year. This is a time to be intentional in bringing your plans and desires before God, to identify those areas where you will be believing God and trusting in Him for change, progress and abundance. This is a journey we go on together as a company of friends. We are able to bring encouragement, faith and inspiration to each other as we pursue those dreams that God has put in our hearts. The ‘Fast Forward’ journal has been prepared to help you as you spend time with God in prayer. Expect God to speak to you as you read the Scriptures and spend time with Him. Write down the thoughts that you have and be prepared to have encounters with God that will be life transforming and life giving. For many people, fasting isn’t fun. Be encouraged!! The results and outcomes of fasting make it worthwhile. (If you are new to fasting, please make sure you pick up the information booklet we have available.) Enter into this time with joy and anticipation, knowing that as we seek after God with all of our hearts, He will hear us and answer us.
4-6 You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness. 7-13 But that doesn’t mean you should all look and speak and act the same. Out of the generosity of Christ, each of us is given his own gift. The text for this is, He climbed the high mountain, .Is it not true that the One who climbed up also climbed down, down to the valley of earth? And the One who climbed down is the One who climbed back up, up to highest heaven. He handed out gifts above and below, filled heaven with his gifts, f lled earth with his gifts. He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ. We are all unique. God has given individual gifts to each one of us yet we are called to use these gifts for each other. We are dependent on each one of us fulfilling our part and using our gifts so that we will be fully alive and mature in Christ. What gifts could you bring to enrich our church community? What steps could you take to ensure you are using your gifts fully and fulfilling God’s purposes for your life?
